Vera Holder Johnson, 83, of Cherokee Village, died Nov. 13, 2003, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. Mrs. Johnson was born March 19, 1920, in Minturn, Ark. She was the daughter of Authur C. and Zella May Alphin Golden.
She formerly lived in Lake Station, Ind., before moving to Hardy and Cherokee Village. She was a homemaker and a member of First Assembly of God Church, Highland.
Survivors include her husband, Carl Johnson of Cherokee Village; three sons -- Bob (Tish) and Dwight Holder of Hardy, and Grent Holder of Lake Station, Ind.; four daughters -- Cindy Armando) Yanez of Lake Station, Ind., Sharon (Charlie) Broad of Milton, Ky., Phyllis (Chuck) Phipps of Jonesboro, Ark., and Dodie (Peter) Lawrence of Ames, Ind.; a brother, Art Golden of Carson City, Nev.; 27 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grand childen; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dexter Holder; two sons -- Roger and Gary Holder; one brother and one sister.
The funeral was Nov. 17 in the Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel with Tim Turner and Bob McMillon officiating. Burial was in Smithville Cemetery at Smithville, Ark., with arrangements under the direction of Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Highland.
