Lamar "Red Kerr Jr., 83, of Calico Rock, died Nov. 8, 2003, at the Conway Regional Medical Center. He was born Dec. 17, 1919, a Newburg, in Izard County and was the son of the late Ernest Lamar Kerr Sr. and Elsie Kerr Stroud Rowden. Kerr was self-employed as a used car dealer, cattle farmer and privately owned real estate. He was a member of the Calico Rock Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane of the home; two daughters -- Konnie McCarthy of Conway and Karla Wilson of Rison; six grandchildren; a half-brother Garner Stroud of Olathe, Kan., and a half sister, Vivienne Garner of Carlsbad, N.M.; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a half brother, Romaine Stroud.
The funeral was Nov. 12 at Howard Funeral Home Chapel in Calico Rock with Ed Matthews and James Wilson officiating. Interment was in Roselawn Cemetery in Calico Rock with arrangements under the direction of Howard Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were the grandchildren -- Justin McCarthy, Chad McCarthy, Tyler Wilson, Britney McCarthy, Landin McCarthy and Blake Wilson. Memorials can be made to the Calico Rock Church of Christ, P.O. Box 595, Calico Rock, AR 72519.
