Velda L. Taylor, daughter of the late George Louthan
and Jennie Watkins Louthan, was born Dec. 28, 1912
in Kimball, Neb., and died Aug. 16, 2003, in
Pocahontas, Ark. at the age of 90. She was united in
marriage Sept. 27, 1933, in Wirth, Ark., to Charlie Lee
Taylor. She was a homemaker and a member of
Pleasant Hill Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors are three children -- George Lee Taylor and
wife, Betty, of Scott City, Mo., Jane Rogers of
Pocahontas, Ark., and Jimmie D. Taylor and wife,
Laura, of Rockford, Ill.; seven grandchildren -- Donald
Rogers of Bangkok, Thialand, Waymond Taylor
Litchfield, Ill., Blaine Rogers of Pocahontas, Tamera
Taylor Swanson of Rockford, Ill., Charlotte Lynn Murray
of Pocahontas, Bruce Taylor of Scott City, Mo., and
Kevin R. Taylor of Rockford, Ill; a great-granddaughter,
Taylor Paige Murray of Pocahontas; and a brother, Jim
Louthan of Fort Collins, Colo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her
husband, a brother, Bill Louthan and two sisters -- Eva
Holland and Wilma Louthan.
Graveside service was Aug. 18 at King Cemetery at
Dalton, with James Lee Reed officiating. Burial was in
King Cemetery with arrangements were by Carter
Funeral Home Inc. of Thayer, Mo.
