Dorsey Wayne Morrow, 88, of Horseshoe Bend, Ark., died April 13, 2004, at his residence. Born June 5, 1915, in Russellville, Mo., he was the son of Joseph and Elizabeth Jones Morrow. He was a veteran of World War II, serving as a naval officer in the South Pacific area. After the war he finished his college education at the University of Denver in Colorado, graduating with a degree in accounting and business administration. He served as president of the Crawford County State Bank in Robinson, Ill. for a number of years. During that time he was actively involved in church and civic affairs. During his retirement years, he and his wife, Neva, moved to Horseshoe Bend, in 1983, where they have lived since that time. He was a member of the Horseshoe Bend First Baptist Church as well as an active member of Gideons International. He was a devoted husband and father.
Survivors include his wife, Neva of the home; two daughters and their husbands -- Judith Markoff and husband, Bill, of Arvado, Colo., and Jeanne Freiheit and husband, Jan, of Rockford, Ill.; a son and his wife, Dr. Dwight Morrow and wife, Susan, of Naperville, Ill.; a sister, Esther Griffin of Jefferson City, Mo.; and six grandchildren -- Michelle Markoff, Jessie, Johanna and Jed Freiheit, and Kelly and Tara Morrow.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lyman and a sister, Dorothy.
The funeral was April 17 at First Baptist Church in Horseshoe Bend with Jack Auten officiating. Burial was in the Enloe Cemetery in Russellville, Mo. Local arrangements were under the direction of Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel.
