Alma Viola Orr, 88, of Alton, Mo., was born Dec. 20, 1914, at Koshkonong, Mo., and died Dec. 7, 2003, at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, Mo. She received her education in the Koshkonong schools. After her marriage to Fred on Sept. 3, 1933, at Thayer, they moved to a farm near Alton where she resided the rest of her life. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Royal Oak Freewill Baptist Church. She was a charter member of Royal Oak Exten-sion Club. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was an inspiration to all of her family. She will be sadly missed, but our loss is heaven's gain.

Survivors include four sons -- Richard and wife, Carol, Ralph and wife, Louise, Vernon and wife, Linda all of Alton, and Philip and wife, Alaina, of West Plains; three daughters -- Myrtle Little and husband, Joe, Shirley Hufstedler and husband, Joe, both of Alton, and Katherine Griffin and husband, Philip, of Stark, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Dianne Orr of St. James, Mo.; 23 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Maguerite Johnston of Elko, Nev., nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henderson Artemus Jones and Minnie Kathryn Perkins-Jones; her husband, Charles Frederick Orr; a son, Dwight; a great-grandson, Matthew Hunt; two sisters -- Ruby Brown and Audrey Mae Jones; and two brothers -- James and Bill Jones.

The funeral was Dec. 10 in Clary Chapel with Ralph Orr officiating. Burial was in Hud-dleston Cemetery with arrangements by Clary Funeral Home of Alton, Mo.

Pallbearers were Dennis Orr, Chris Orr, Niels Orr, Jason Little, Shane Hufstedler, Eric Little, Bryan Hufstedler, Derek Hufstedler, Robert Smith, Stephen Orr, and Daren Orr.
