Mr. and Mrs. John Borden of Jonesboro, Ark., have announced the engagement and forthcoming marriage of her daughter, Amber Christine Manning, to Matthew Wayne King, son of Mrs. Neal King of Hot Springs, Ark., and the late Donald King,
The bride-elect is also the daughter of Vincent Manning of Biggers, Ark. She is the granddaughter of Norma Manning of Madisonville, Texas, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Leo Gearhart.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Lee King of Myrtle, Mo., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Lee Baker Sr.
The bride-elect is a 1998 graduate of Jonesboro High School and graduated magna cum laude from Ouachita Baptist University in 2002 with a bachelor of arts degree in marketing. She is employed at the Otolaryngology and Facial Surgery Center in Jonesboro.
The prospective groom is a 1997 graduate of Lakeside High School in Hot Springs. He is a 2001 graduate of Arkansas State University in Jonesboro with a bachelor's degree in agricultural business and a 2003 graduate of University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with a master's degree in agricultural economics. He is employed with the Foreign Agriculture Service Division of the United States Department of Agriculture in Washington, D.C.
The couple will exchange wedding vows Sept. 20 at 6 p.m. at Garvan Woodland Gardens in Hot Springs. The reception will follow in the pavilion.
