AREA -- Former state Rep. Don Koller announced last week that he will not pursue the 33rd District State senate seat.
Koller recently accepted the position as program specialist with the Terrorism Division of the Department of Public Safety/Emergency Management Agency.
He said, "I enjoy the challenge of this position and have decided not to pursue the 33rd District Senate seat."
Koller was first elected to the Legislature in 1984 and served nine consecutive terms as state representative from the 148th and 153rd, Districts which included Oregon County.
Koller went on to say, "With Homeland Security being such an important issue at this time, I feel my duties as a public servant will continue."
