The 12th annual Home, Garden and Sports Show will be March 29 from 4 to 9 p.m. and March 30 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bar D Arena in Ash Flat. First National Bank of Sharp County is again host for this event at no charge to its booth sponsors or the public.

Donations will be accepted with all proceeds going to the Arkansas Sheriffs' Boys and Girls Ranch at Hardy.

This year's show will feature a variety of information and practical suggestions from local businesses on the care of homes, lawns and gardens. Gardening experts will be on hand to offer tips.

The Sharp County Conservation District will again have plans for birdhouses as well as information on a variety of topics relating to conservation and wildlife. Local Realtors will showcase homes for sale and area home builders will provide home improvement tips and information on building new homes. The newest RVs, boats, cars and trucks on the market will be available for viewing. The FNB of Sharp County's booth will have information on all their services, including the new Passport Club for folks 50 and better.

This year's show will again feature the Arkansas Game and Fish Mobile Aquarium, a traveling aquarium featuring varieties of fish native to Arkansas. And back by popular demand will be a turkey-calling contest sponsored by the Spring River Longbeards Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation to be held on Saturday. There will be a division for "jakes" (17 years and younger) one for adult males (18 years and older) and a new one this year for women. This will be a non-sanctioned event with prizes for first and second in the men's and women's divisions and trophies to the first and second places in the jake division. There will be a $10 entry fee for adults and $5 for jakes.
