Traffic stop leads to meth bust

Thursday, May 15, 2003

A Calico Rock man was arrested May 8 after Arkansas State Police Trooper Todd Shaw discovered suspected methamphetamine during a traffic stop on Boswell Road in rural Izard County.

Gary Cline, 42, was stopped by Shaw for not having tags on his vehicle. He was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, DWI and drug paraphernalia.

Cline was transported to the Izard County jail where he was charged with additional misdemeanor charges, including resisting arrest, no vehicle tags and refusing to submit to a blood test, said Scott Russell, 16th Judicial District Drug Task Force chief investigator.

Sheriff Joe Martz said the suspect was released from jail the same day after posting bond in the amount of $5,000.
