Ratliff earns Beta scholarship

The National Beta Club recently announced that Sissy Nicole Ratliff has been named a Beta Scholar, which entitles her to a scholarship award of $1,000.Ratliff, a senior at Highland High School, competed against more than 1,015 candidates nationwide for this honor. Two hundred eight scholarship recipients were chosen. She plans to attend Harding University in Searcy, where she will major in psychology. She was recommended for this award by her Beta Club sponsor, Debbi Bassham.Ratliff is the president of the HHS Beta Club chapter. She served as the club's treasurer last school year. As a member of Beta, she has shown exemplary leadership and service to the community.Sissy is the daughter of Brian and Robyn Ratliff. Her grandparents are Amy and Rex Montgomery of Cherokee Village and Dorthy and Larry Ratliff of Hardy. She is the great-granddaughter of Imo-gene Robinson of Hardy.
