Viola man found dead

Thursday, April 25, 2002

A man's body found in Viola on April 20 has been identified and his death is believed to have been an accident, Fulton County Sheriff Lloyd Martz said.

A neighbor reported to authorities that a white male was lying in a yard across from his residence at 168 Pickern Hall Road in Viola. Fulton County Coroner Steve Barker pronounced Tex Eugene Robbins, 41, dead at the scene.

The State Medical Examiner's Office was contacted to transport the body to Little Rock for an autopsy.

After Martz requested assistance from the Arkansas State Police, Special Agent Tony Haley and Sgt. Mark Hollingsworth arrived at the scene and conducted several interviews.

Martz said agents believe the death may have been accidental from a fall, but authorities are waiting for a determination from the medical examiner.

Hollingsworth said the investigation is continuing at this time and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
