James E. Nash, 74, of Cave City, died Oct. 21, 2003, at his home. He was born Feb. 24, 1929, at Tuckerman, Ark., to George Lee and Lena Foley Nash.
He was an Army veteran of Korea and Vietnam having retired after 20 years of service and was a member of Vince Street Missionary Baptist Church in Batesville.
Survivors include his wife, Maude Auten Nash of the home; two sons -- Jammie Nash of Strawberry and Bobby Nash of Hawaii; a daughter, Lena Hunter of Cave City; a sister, Bertha Herman of Lepanto; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers -- Richard Nash, Andrew Nash, Christopher Nash, Johnny Nash and Jack Nash; two sisters -- Beatrice Dunehew Penn and Lucille Nash; two nieces and three nephews.
A graveside service was Oct. 25 at Kyler Cemetery located at Southside near Batesville, with the Rev. Allen Brown officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Qualls Batesville Funeral Service at Batesville.
Honorary pallbearers were Bobby Nash, Jammie Nash, Joe Nash, Jerry Nash, Jammie Nash Jr. and Lantz Tucker.
