MoDOT gives road work info, update

OREGON COUNTY -- Bridgework continues on Route 99 north of Route 160 near Thomasville and will continue through September.

Ozark Asphalt will be laying asphalt on Route 160 starting at the Ripley County line to Alton.

Major construction continues on Route 63 in Thayer to the Arkansas stateline where Krupp Construction is repairing the pavement.

Van Buren maintenance crews will be blade patching on Routes CC, FF and Y in Oregon County. Alton and Thayer maintenance crews will be spraying herbicide on various routes in the county. This will be a moving operation, and motorists are advised to drive with caution and watch for workers and equipment on or near the roadway.

Alton and Thayer maintenance crews will also be doing blade work and leveling on Route Y at the junction of Route 142 in Oregon County. Motorists in this area of the county are advised to watch for fresh oil and loose gravel on the roadway.

Crews will be spraying for Johnson grass on various routes in the county throughout the summer.

MoDOT officials advise drivers that some flaggers and signs will be present during some of the roadwork and motorists are urged to drive with caution in all mentioned work areas.
