Mazel Sylvia Hinshaw, 79, of Hardy, formerly of Thayer and West Plains, daughter of the late T. R. and Ervia Fendley, was born July 1, 1922, in Morgan County, Ala. She died June 3, 2002, at White River Medical Center in Batesville, Ark. She was married to William Eugene Hinshaw July 1, 1975, in Hardy. She was a member of the Colt Baptist Church in Colt, Ark., where she also was a Sunday School teacher, a member of the choir and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, she was a retired restaurant manager, riverboat cook, gardener, and a great wife and mother.Survivors include her husband, William Eugene Hin-shaw of the home; one step-son, Billy Hinshaw of California; seven daughters, Francis Jenkins of Nevada, Laverne Lucas Dempsey, Wanda Mckee and Needie Mckee Rountree, all of Forrest City, Ark., Shirley Mckee Drouin of San Diego, Calif., Carol Wilkins Mott of Alexandria, La., and Rebecca McKee Oakes of Hardy; three sons, Larry Mckee of Millington, Tenn., Cleo Mckee of Colt, Ark., and Steve Mckee of Wynne, Ark.; 29 grandchildren; a multitude of great-grandchildren; three sisters, a twin sister, Hazel Fletchall Dudgeon of Selmer, Tenn., Mildred Fendley of Aragon, Ga., and Ruth Williamson of Yazoo City, Miss.; two brothers, Mac Fendley and John B. Fendley of Lake Cormorant, Miss.; and many other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Linda Mckee Slaughter of Thayer, Mo.; and one son, Billy Gene Mckee.Services were Thursday, June 6, 2002, at the Higgin-botham Chapel in Hardy with Bro. Charles Bradley of Colt, Ark. officiating. Burial was in the Baker Cemetery in Williford, Ark. with arrangements under the direction of Higginbotham Funeral Service, Inc. of Hardy, Ark.
