Vivian E. McNair Parsons was born July 26, 1927, in Independence, Mo. She is the daughter of Joseph S. and Tressie Burke McNair. Vivian died Dec. 16, 2004, in Clinton, Mo. She married Joseph Parsons in 1947; he died Aug. 17, 1998. They lived in Clinton, Mo. most of their married life. She grew up at Camp, Ark., and graduated from Salem High School. She was a homemaker and also had become a fine jeweler.

Survivors include a son, Damon Parsons (Susan); a daughter, Linda Dvorak (Anton); eight grandchildren -- Kristin, Ashley, Alexandra, Anton, Jonathan, Mark, Daniel and James; and a great-grandson, Michael; three brothers -- Burk McNair (Susie), Marion Mcair (Deloyce) and Raymond McNair (Eve); a sister, Peggy J. Batterton (Jack); two sisters-in-law -- Dottie Ochs McNair (her husband Carl McNair died in April, 2004) and Janet Parsons; and a niece, Gloria Parsons. She had a multitude of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents -- Joe and Tressie McNair; two brothers -- Archie McNair, Carl McNair; and a sister, Margie NcNair Meredith.

A graveside service was officiated by Dr. David Maggi and interment was in the Englewood Cemetery in Clinton Mo.
