Glen Arthur Edwards, 67, of West Plains, Mo. died May 25, 2005, in Willow Springs, Mo. He was born March 17, 1938 in Thayer, Mo., the son of the late Clarence Edwards and Martha Lorene Staton Edwards.
He was united in marriage June 18, 1960, in Mammoth Spring, Ark. to Peggy Johnson. He was united in marriage in Las Vegas to Barbara McLaren.
He was a graduate of Thayer High School graduating valedictorian of the class of 1956. He was an engineer, graduating third in his class at Missouri University in Columbia where he was a member of various clubs and organizations.
He was also a member of the National Honor Society. He was a mechanical engineer for General Electric for 25 years, and was a member of the Alton-Thayer Elks Lodge
He was an avid golfer and enjoyed quail hunting and racing.
Survivors include one daughter, Jennifer Lea Collins of West Plains; three grandchildren -- Jesse Lee Collins, Jade Linnae Collins and Jaxon Lane Collins, all of West Plains; several nieces and nephews, including Ralph Edwards Jr. and wife, Taru, of West Plains, Diane Smith and husband, Bart, of Springfield, Mo., and their mother, Norma Edwards of West Plains; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son-in-law, Jonathan Collins; and four brothers -- Walter Lee, Robert Ray, Roy Laverne and Ralph Eugene "Bud"Edwards.
Graveside services were held May 28 at Thayer Cemetery in Thayer, Mo., with Erman Croney officiating. Arrange-ments were under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
