John Lee Jefferson White, 86, of Salem, son of Wesley Abraham White and Viola Jane Gabler White, was born May 23, 1918, in Oxford, Ark. He died April 16, 2005, at Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Ark.

He married Rosemary Mc-Donald Feb. 28, 1942, at Flint Hill. To this union two children were born. He married Mae Foster Fortner on Oct. 21, 1976.

He was an electrician by trade and was employed for many years by the North Arkansas Electric Cooperative. He enjoyed hunting and fishing but his greatest love was target shooting, which he was exceptionally good at. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include his children -- Galen (Janice) White of Salem, and Nancy (Terry) Dailey of Viola; and three grandchildren -- Christopher Lee Dailey of Valdosta, Ga., Farra Lane Dailey of Viola and Scott Wesley White of Salem.

He was preceded in death by both wives; four sisters -- Virgie White, Ethel Sanders, Ruth Lawyer and Mary Wells; a brother, David White; and his parents.

The funeral was April 20 at Cox-Blevins Chapel with burial in Fairview Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem, Ark.
