Born 2-7-1923 -- Died 3-7-2005

Frank Rose, 82, of Cave City, Ark., died March 7, 2005, at White River Medical Center in Batesville. Born Feb. 7, 1923, at Mobley, Ark., he was the son of James Parkey and Sarah James Rose.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II having served in the European Theater. He was a retired auto mechanic and a member and deacon of the Bold Springs Missionary Baptist Church near Strawberry.

Survivors include two sons -- Tommy Rose of Rock, Kan., and Billy Bob Rose of Orange Park, Fla.; a brother, Pat Rose of Cave City; two sisters -- Florence Gardner of Ponchatula, La., and Zora Boyer of Paragould; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sarah Geneva Rose; an infant daughter, Barbara Ann Rose; three brothers -- Wes Rose, Ernest Rose and J.P. "Jake" Rose; and three sisters -- Dorothy Perilloux, Wilma Smith and Una Pinter.

The funeral was March 10 at Bold Springs Missionary Baptist Church near Strawberry with DeShawn Pankey officiating.

Burial followed in Ward Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.

Pallbearers were Scotty Perkey, Jim Smith, Donald Milligan, Shorty Rose, Gary Rose and James Headley.

Honorary pallbearers were Carol Stone, Tom Foley, Herb Miller, Gene Smith, Daniel Rose, Mark Rose, Richard Meacham and George Wright.
