Laverne Sims Moser, 76, of Sage, Ark., daughter of the late R.J. and Earle Rhyan Sims, was born Aug. 5, 1927, in Gid, Ark. She died June 3, 2004, in Melbourne, Ark. She married J.W. Moser July 25, 1947, in Melbourne, and to this union three children were born. She spent her life as a homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She attended the Zion Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, J.W. Moser of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law -- Marvin and Carol Moser of Leon, Kan., and Joe and Sandy Moser of Sage, Ark.; a daughter and son-in-law -- Earlene and Larry Woody of Norfork, Ak.; three sisters -- Wanda Robinson of Andover, Kan., Betty Craig of Wenatchee, Wash., and Zelda Bannings also of Wenachee; two brothers -- Harold Sims of Oak Valley, Kan., and Evan Sims of Andover, Kan; six grandchildren -- Derak Woody, Sebrina Weaver, Bridget McSpadden, Brittney Moser, Amy Gilbert and Julie Salyers; and six great-grandchildren -- Tanner Salyes, Lauren Salyers, Nikki Jo McSpadden, Tristan Weaver, Hallie Weaver and Madison Woody.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
The funeral was June 5 at the Roman and Billy Howard Memorial Chapel with Gary Wallace and Larry Strope officiating. Burial was in Reeves Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Ronald Moser, Jim Weston, Tate Lawrence, W.E. Thompkins, Harold Marlin and Wilson Teague.
Honorary pallbearers were Dave Sellars, Brandon Johnson, John Brown, Richard Peron, Bill Newell and Eudell Smith.
