McTeacher's Night helps Mammoth Spring Elementary

Thursday, May 29, 2003

Thayer McDonald's joined surrounding states, including Arkansas, May 6 to help raise funds for area schools.

Mammoth Spring Elemen-tary received restaurant proceeds collected from 4 to 8 that evening.

The school received $300 as a result of the second annual McTeacher's Night.

May 6 was National Teacher's Day and the local McDonald's employees decided this would be the perfect day to help benefit one of the local schools. Mammoth Spring Elementary was the school selected to participate in McTeacher's Night. Approximately $115,000 was raised in Missouri and surrounding states that evening.

McDonald's employees Shanna Sims and Maggie Harrell, manager, Shirley Hollis, as well as Mammoth Spring Elementary teachers Sherry Powell, Ann Washam, Sandy Russell and principal Ruth Stevens welcomed students, parents and their families to McTeacher's Night.

Subsequent McTeacher's Nights are scheduled for October and December. Schools wishing to participate should contact Thayer McDonald's owner Norman Hilburn at 417-264-2712.
