Seeing unborn babies in four dimension is now available in Mountain Home.
The Center for Women has announced the arrival of the latest ultrasound technology from General Electric. The GE 4D Volusion 730 Ultrasound shows physicians images in three dimensions, with the fourth dimension being "real time motion."
While this technology allows new parents to get a clear view of their baby's features and sex, Dr. Christopher Bryant stresses other important benefits such as viewing images of fetal abnormalities that can occur.
"The ultra-clear GE picture allows you to see the baby in a 4-dimensional picture instead of the old technology, which only provided a hazy 2-dimensional picture," said Dr. Harley Barrow. "It's rewarding to see expecting parents view their baby's face, arms and feet inside the womb for the first time. I love to watch the expressions on their face."
The physicians at the Center for Women also use the GE ultrasound to determine accurate delivery dates, fetal development, structural problems with the uterus, ovarian tumors and fibroids. It is the only location for the GE 4D Ultrasound in north central Arkansas.
"We are excited to offer this new service to our community," said Dr. Mary Wren. "You don't have to travel two to three hours to receive state-of-the-art prenatal and gynecologic care. It's available right here in Mountain Home."
