Bernice L. Cavenar, 93, of Sandtown died Aug. 10, 2005, at White River Medical Center in Batesville. She was born Oct. 13, 1911, at Batesville to Robert Andrew and Mary Elizabeth (Smith) Tugwell. She retired from the Missouri Pacific Hospital in St. Louis as secretary treasurer and was of the Methodist faith.
She is survived by a niece, Valeria Smithee of Caseyville, Ill., one great-niece, Cassandra Shelton of Caseyville, Ill., and one great-nephew, Harrold Smithee of O'Fallon, Ill., and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Bonnie Stroud and Roberta Dean Tugwell; one nephew, Jerrell Stroud.
The funeral service was Aug. 14, at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Rev. Larry Morris and Bro. J.W. Roach officiating. Burial followed in the Lee's Chapel Cemetery at Sandtown with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Danny Shelton, Michael Smith, Jimmy Hughes, Hughes Tugwell, Lenny Rush and Charles Howard.
Honorary pallbearers were Rickey Reynolds, Kenneth Manuel, Sammy Reynolds, Billy Carter and Johnny Carter.
