Search continues for missing man

Search teams are still looking for Dr. Jerry Hitt of Rogers.Helicopters, dogs, underwater cameras and divers have joined in as the search continues for Hitt who reportedly fell overboard June 14 during a fishing trip on the White River.It is believed another person was with Hitt about two miles upstream from Calico Rock, and a group from Rogers was in a second boat farther upstream, according to Izard County Dispatcher Bob Simonsick.Bull Shoals and Norfork dams were closed by the Corps of Engineers June 14 and will remain shut until Hitt is found, according to Simonsick.Divers from the Arkansas Game and Fish dive team and from Izard and Baxter counties have assisted Izard County law enforcement officers with the search.Fulton County Deputy Paul Martin said deputies Carrol Traw and James Humphrey had used the county's recently purchased underwater surveillance camera two days in the search.Simonsick said rescue workers have been combing the river and shoreline until 2 a.m. each morning.
