Third Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Stewart Lambert, his son, Zachary, and John Thurman did not appear in Sharp County Circuit Court June 17 as expected. Stewart Lambert was scheduled for arraignment and the younger Lambert and Thurman were scheduled to appear in court for a jury trial. Deputy Clerk Julie Solomon said Special Prosecutor Will Feland notified the clerk's office last week and instructed that jurors be notified they did not have to attend court Monday. Solomon said no official motions have been filed for a continuation and Feland gave her no indication as to when the trial would be rescheduled. She said Feland told her he would have to contact Special Judge Floyd Lofton and all of the attorneys to discuss rescheduling. According to Solomon, a jury term is scheduled for Circuit Judge Harold Erwin for July 16-26. She speculated it would be at least late July before the trial could be rescheduled. Stewart Lambert is charged with hindering apprehension and obstruction of justice. Zachary Lambert and Thurman are charged with one count each of aggravated robbery and assault stemming for an incident that took place in Cherokee Village Jan. 8.Feland did not return calls requesting additional information.
