NADC offers help with heating bills

Thursday, March 10, 2005

The Northcentral Arkansas Development Council Inc. has contracted with the Division of County Operations to begin the FY 2005 Crisis Intervention Program. This program is to run from March 1 through Sept. 30, or until it appears funds are depleted, whichever occurs first.

For applicants to be considered in a crisis situation they are required to have received a shutoff notice from their energy supplier with shutoff date to be within seven days from date of application, or a statement from the LP gas supplier stating the household's tank is at or below 10 percent of tank capacity with written statement of cost of a minimum delivery of gas.

County coordinator Jo Ann Lowrie is scheduled to be in the NADC Fulton County Office Monday, Tuesday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the NADC Sharp County Office Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Following are requirements needed before an application can be taken and processed:

* Proof of income for all household members for the previous month.

* Information on the date and place of current or last employment for all household members.

* Proof of child support being received.
