Flora "Amie" Grimes, 80, of Ash Flat, formerly of Evening Shade, died Aug. 26, 2002, at White River Medical Center in Searcy. She was born June 27, 1922, in Izard County to John and Estel (Tadalock) Farris. She was a homemaker and a member of the Ash Flat Baptist Church, and formerly a long-time member of the Evening Shade Baptist Church.Survivors are one daughter, Francis Coleman of Ash Flat; one grandson, Mike Coleman of Bismark, Mo.; one granddaughter, Teresa Gourley of Rogers; two great-grandchildren, Jeremy Coleman of Farmington, Mo. and Amie Coleman of Bismark, Mo.; five brothers, Bob Farris of Cave City, Floyd Farris of Salado, Ted Farris of Sidney, Eddie Farris, and Coy Farris both of Evening Shade; one sister, Mamie Couch of Nashville, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Grimes; and one brother, Claude Farris.Services were Aug. 29, at the Evening Shade Baptist Church with Bro. Robert Hutchinson officiating. Burial was in the Campground Cemetery north of Evening Shade with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.Pallbearers were Sherman Ables, Bill Qualls, Howard Fulgham, Donald Qualls, Frankie Sharp, Gary Shell, and John Ables.
