Harold W. Ware, 92, of Cherokee Village, Ark. passed away on Sept. 1, 2002, at the Fulton County Hospital in Salem. He and his wife, Edna, moved to Cherokee Village 26 years ago from St. Louis, Mo. where he worked as a sales person for various wholesale companies.He was a World War II veteran having served in the Marine Corps. He was a member of the Spring River Presbyterian Church, a 50-year member of the Wilson Masonic Lodge #432, a 50-year member of the Spring River Shrine Club, and served it as Tyler for 10 years. He also served 10 years as the Cherokee Village Lake Patrol and was past Deacon of the Independent Congregational Church in St. Louis, Mo. He was a volunteer Cherokee Village firefighter and was also a member of the American Legion Post 0184 in Jinnings, Mo., and DAV Chapter 001, in St. Louis, Mo.He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Minerva Dill Ware; his wife, Edna; and one sister.No services were held. Burial was in the Spring River Presbyterian Church Memorial Garden with arrangements by Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Highland. Memorials can be made to the Spring River Presbyterian Church or the CV Fire Department, Jaws of Life Fund.
