Fred Anderson German, 82, of Alton, Mo., was born on Nov. 11, 1919, in Cameron, Mo., and passed away Aug. 30, 2002, at the Shepherd's View Residential Care Center in Alton. He was a veteran of World War II, receiving the Purple Heart while serving with the U. S. Army in the South Pacific.Survivors include four children, Helen and Gene Jackson of Van Buren, Mo., Bob and Linda German of Alton, Freddie Young of Alton, and Rick and Sarah German of Charlotte, N.C.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mattie Luntsford-German; his wife, Violet; and two brothers, Malcom and Kenneth.Services were Sept. 7, 2002, at the Macedonia Baptist Church with Bro. Joby Steele and Bro. John Lewis Casey officiating. Burial was in the Huddleston Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home of Alton, Mo.
