Hazel Rea Sanford Thom-pson, 92, of Ash Flat, a former resident of Colt, Ark., died Sept. 21, 2004, at Ash Flat Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born May 28, 1912, in New Albany, Miss.

She was married in 1925 to Thead Garland Thompson, who preceded her in death in 1963. She was a homemaker and enjoy- ed gardening. She sold Blair Pro- ducts for over 40 years, and was a member of Saddle Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Donald Burtram of Ash Flat, Dale Thompson of Camp, and Larry Thompson of Widener, Ark.; five daughters -- Evelyn West of Mantachie, Miss., Sue Bates of Ash Flat, Gayle Watlington of Williford, Phyllis Cowan of Melbourne and Joy Hudspeth of Hurst, Texas; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thead Garland Thompson; her parents -- Jasper Newton and Ollie Beaty Sanford; three sons -- Jasper Lewis, Waymon and Murriel Thompson; two daughters, Syble and Helen Thompson; three sisters -- Huey Burtram, Enner Mae Collins and Brooksie Clayton; and one brother, William Sanford.

The funeral service was Sept. 23 at Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Wynne, Ark. with J.T. Baskins and Gary Arnold officiating.

Burial was in Hughes Cemetery in Forrest City. Arrangements were under the direction of Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home of Wynne and McCroy.

Pallbearers were Jeff Cowan, Tony Cowan, Jimmy Dale Thompson, Ray Thompson, Garland Watlington, Lonnie West, Phil West, and Randy West.
