The Viola Lady Longhorns followed up their fourth-place finish in the Mark Martin Ford-Lady Pioneer Invitational by jumping back into the ring with another big-time opponent; the Class AAAAA Mountain Home Lady Bombers.

The Lady Horns (15-3) struck for four runs in the fourth, and two more in the fifth en route to a 6-3 win over the Lady Bombers April 5.

Mountain Home scored all its runs in the bottom of the seventh, but their rally came up three runs short.

Megan Bruns went two-for-three for Viola with two RBIs. Kyla Smoot and Courtney Winters each logged three hits in four at-bats, while Gina Hodges hit two-for-three.

The Lady Longhorns kept Flippin off the scoreboard until the fourth inning, as Viola routed the Lady Bobcats 17-1 April 5.

Viola picked up three runs in the first, a run in both the second and third inning, four in the fourth, and they finished the game off by crossing the plate eight times in the top of the fifth for the big win.

Lindsey Barker earned the victory for the Lady Horns.

Chelsea Taylor went three-for-four, while Jamie Dailey logged two RBIs on a pair of hits. Melinda Guffey also had two hits, driving in three, and Smoot knocked in four runs on two hits.

It took just three innings for the Lady Longhorns to knock out Norfork 19-0 April 8.
