Stephenses celebrate anniversary

Ewell and Jean Stephens celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary Nov. 23. The couple married Nov. 23, 1943, in Mountain Home.

Jean Simpson Stephens was born in Norfork and graduated from Norfork High School.

Ewell was born in Elizabeth. After his tour of duty with the Navy Seabees in the South Pacific, the couple moved to Wenatchee, Wash., in 1946. They moved to Othello, Wash., in 1952, where they still reside.

Mr. Stephens retired from Operating Engineers and Stephens Crane Service. Mrs. Stephens was a clerk, retiring after 25 years with one business.

Their four children are Ginger (Dennis) Niva of Port Angeles, Wash., Gary (Cheree) of Wenatchee, Paul (Brenda) of Kennewick, Wash., and Timothy of Kennewick.

Mr. and Mrs. Stephens have nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The couple enjoys traveling in their fifth wheel and visiting family.
