Leslie James Anderson, 92, of Cave City, Ark., died April 11, 2004, at Cave City, Ark. Born Dec. 13, 1911, at Cave City, he was the son of George W. and Viola Russell Anderson. He was retired from the Arkansas Highway Department, served 12 years as sharp county judge, served in the United States Army during World War II, He served on the Selected Service Draft Board for many years, was a member of AHTD Retiree Club, a member of the VFW and a member of the Milligan Campground Cumberland Presbyterian Church near Strawberry.
Survivors include a son, James A. Anderson of Imboden; a brother, Vaughn Anderson of Batesville; four grandchildren -- James Allen Anderson of Smithville, Paula Hoggard and Michael Anderson, both of Strawberry and Randall Ray Anderson of Newark; 14 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Aenon Milligan Anderson; three brothers -- Corbett Anderson, Wes Anderson and John William Anderson; two sisters, Cauline Hobbs and Virgie Ring; and a halfsister, Virgie Seward.
The funeral was April 14 at Milligan Campground Cumber-land Presbyterian Church near Strawberry with Alan Meinzer and Grayden Millian officiating. Burial followed in Milligan Campground Cemetery near Strawberry with arrangements under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Pallbearers were Mike Anderson, Randy Anderson, Andy Anderson, Brandon Hoggad, Charlie Vaugier and Bryon Hoggard.
Honorary pallbearers were Clayton Anderson, Paul Hoggard, Buster Ingram, David Seward, Ronald Ring, Elmo Anderson, Gary Anderson, and Donald Anderson.
