Cafe to serve Thanksgiving dinner for $5 donation

Tuesday, November 23, 2004

MAMMOTH SPRING -- The Out of the Way Cafe located on Main Street in Mammoth Spring will be participating in its second annual Thanksgiving benefit this year.

Cafe owners Tina Miano and Mike Geisenberger said they will prepare and serve turkey dinner with all the trimmings for a $5 donation on Thanksgiving Day. The meal will be served from 11 a.m. until everyone is fed or exhausted, they said.

All proceeds made from the benefit will go toward the Shop with a Cop Program in Mammoth Spring and Oregon County.

Last year, the cafe did the same thing on Thanksgiving and raised $459 for Hands of Hope, as well as a truck full of toys and blankets. In June they held a benefit for the Mammoth Spring Fire Department Auxiliary and raised $775.

"We have been in business 1 1/2 years and we look forward to serving the community. You can't be a small business in a small town without giving back to the community," Miano said.
