MAMMOTH SPRING -- Mammoth Spring Mayor Jean Pace opened the November city council meeting with a report on the recent grant the Mammoth Spring Fire Department received. She said the grant totaled $2,029 and was used to purchase hoses and nozzles.
Pace told council members the city awarded the bid for the chipper for the city to Henard Utility Products from Searcy, Ark., for $19,995. She said due to a grant received to purchase the chipper, the city will be reimbursed $14,996.
The council discussed the fitness trail. The mayor said several pieces of the trail had arrived and had been placed at the park.
The city council gave King Asphalt of Thayer the job of street work in the city. The cost of the street project should be $13,000.
Council members voted to offer a disability option to city employees at a cost of $6 a month per employee with the city paying 80 percent of the cost.
