HEALTH FAIR: Students in Kelly Robert's third grade class at Couch Elementary School visit with Sharon Wrenfrow from the Oregon County Health Department at the Couch School Health Fair held recently.
COUCH -- The first ever Couch School Health Fair was held last week at the school and health fair organizers called the event a success. The health fair was organized by Karen Kornegay and Couch High School FCCLA advisor Teresa Holder. The theme was "Good Health, Know It and Do It."

Kornegay said there were 16 stations in all. "Some of the stations were information and others were assessments which included blood pressure and blood sugar checks," Kornegay said.

Some of the school and community organizations and businesses that had stations at the fair were: from Springfield,The Chocolate Fountain; the Oregon County Sheriff's Department, which finger printed students; Couch FCCLA Bodywalk; Parents as Teachers; MDC Gun Safety; Oregon County Extension, which promoted good nutrition and 4-H; Sharon Wrenforw with the Oregon County Health Department.

Kornegay said the health fair may become an annual event at the school.
