An Izard County man already convicted of sexually assaulting two children in Sharp County and charged with raping an 8-year-old female in Independence County has been charged with an additional count of rape and is facing possible child pornography charges.

Darry Gene Reppond, 64, of Wideman has been charged with raping a 4-year-old girl in Independence County.

The 4-year-old female is the sister of the 8-year-old girl Reppond was charged with assaulting Oct. 4.

Cpt. Bill Lindsey with the Independence County Sheriff's said the new charge stems from interviews with the girl and information collected by the Mountain Home Police Department.

Lindsey said the 4-year-old was interviewed after the Mountain Home Police discovered pictures of the girl in sexually explicit poses. The 4-year-old's mother confirmed that the girl in the pictures was her daughter.

The pictures were developed at the Mountain Home Wal-Mart under Reppond's name, Lindsey said.

During the interview the 4-year-old told investigators that Reppond had assaulted her twice, Lindsey said.

Bond for Reppond was increased from $250,000 to $500,000.

Reppond was convicted of two counts of sexual assault in the second degree in 1996. In that case, Reppond admitted to sexually abusing a 10-year-old female and an 8-year-old female over the course of several months.

Reppond was also convicted of similar charges in Texas. Reppond's trial date is slated for next year. If convicted Reppond faces life in prison.
