Ray J. Morgan Jr., 76, of South Bend, Ind., died Oct. 18, 2004, at South Bend. Born Oct. 31, 1927, at Batesville, Ark., he was the son of Ray Morgan and Myrtle Ione Christenberry Morgan. He served in the United States Navy during World War II, was a factory worker and a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in South Bend.
Survivors include his wife, Nettie Lou Walker Morgan of the home; five sons -- Randy R. Morgan of South Bend, Johnny Ray Morgan of Logansport, Ind., Ricky Morgan of Conroe, Texas, Lee Roy Morgan of St. Louis, Mo., and Jimmie Morgan of Odessa, Texas; two daughters -- Linda Brown of Akron, Ohio and Nancy Lamme of Austin, Texas; two brothers -- Wilson Morgan of Ash Flat and Ted Morgan of Sitka, Ark.; a sister, Betty Smith of Cave City; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Mary Morgan Jones.
A graveside service was Oct. 22 at Parsley Cemetery located east of Cave City with L. J. Gay officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
