Ted Johnson, 66, of Cherokee Village, Ark., died May 5, 2004 at his home. Born June 28, 1937, in Wrightsville, Ga., he was the son of Annie D. McCray Johnson and Roger G. Johnson.
He was retired from the Navy, a retired police officer, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Hardy, Ark.
Survivors include his wife, Mirene Langston Johnson of Cherokee Village; three grandchildren -- Tommy Hughes, Shelly Hughes and Erik Hughes; one great-grandchild, Chase T. Hughes; two brothers -- Coney H. Johnson of Fayette-ville, Ga., and Fred G. Johnson of Montgomery, Ala.; and a sister, Thurla Oxford of Macon, Ga.
He was preceded in death by two sons -- Jerry Lee Hughes and Lonnie Lloyd Hughes; three brothers; three sisters and his parents.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete but will be under the direction of Heath Funeral Home of Hardy.
Memorials preferred to Eastern Ozarks Regional Hospice.
