Harold Willis Johnson, 85, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2001 in West Plains, Mo. He was born Jan. 24, 1916, in Mammoth Spring, Ark., the son of the late Joe Lee Johnson and Mattie Jean Butler Johnson. He was united in marriage March 11, 1939, in Alton, Mo. to June Smith. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mammoth Spring and was a farmer.Survivors include his wife, June, of the home in Mammoth Spring; six children, Joe Johnson and his wife Pam of Mammoth Spring, Pat Hilton of Thayer, Mo, Peggy Edwards of Mammoth Spring, Jack Johnson of West Plains, Shirley Jones and Dave of Thayer, Mo., and Sherry Keylon and her husband Ronnie of Mammoth Spring; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one brother-in-law, Buford Skaggs of West Plains.He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Kelly Keylon; one son-in-law, Joe M. Hilton; one brother, Fred Johnson; and two sisters, Dora Skaggs and Maxine Magerstadt.Services were held Sunday, Nov. 4, 2001 at 2 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Rev. Bruce Stone officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery in Mammoth Spring with arrangement under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., of Thayer.Pallbearers were: Tim Johnson, Tracy Jones, Josh Johnson, Ryan Johnson, Tony Johnson, Dane Johnson, Jesse Collins, and M.J. Clark.
