Couch School Board accepts coach Chester's resignation
COUCH -- Members of the Couch School Board heard a report on A+ progress at their most recent meeting. They also voted to accept the resignation of girls basketball coach Kristina Chester who will be taking a position at a school in Arkansas.
Superintendent Rolla Fraley discused the 2003-04 budget and projections for the 2004-05 budget.
School board members received a list of teachers who have completed their career ladder responsibilities for 2003-04 and a copy of the Annual Assessment of Career Ladder Plan and Activities.
The board voted to adopt the MSBA Policy Updates. They also voted to remove student attendance incentives for the 2004-05 school year.
School board members voted to begin the 2004-05 school year under the 2003-04 budget. The board received and approved a copy off the health Services Annual Report and evaluated the Health services Program.
The board voted to advertise for wood for the upcoming school year. Couch School will pay $30 for a 4-foot by 8-foot stack of wood with wood being between 20 and 24 inches long. Couch School patrons interested in supplying wood should contact the school.
School board members received an annual attendance report and were informed of upcoming meetings, teleconferences and camps.
School board members were informed of summer work progress and that the replacement of the roof on the gym is scheduled to be completed by the end of June, barring weather conditions permitting.
They also voted to advertise for applicants for a cook's position.
School board members voted to offer Cecil Myers a teaching/coaching contract and to offer Joan Bull a part-time teaching contract at Couch School.
The next meeting of the Couch School Board will be July 13 at 7 p.m. in the school library.
