Homer Wren, 87, of Melbourne, Ark., son of the late Dolphus Wren and Mary Clack Wren was born on April 8, 1917, in Sage, Ark. He died July 21, 2004, in Calico Rock, Ark. He married Rogie Jones Jan. 8, 1949, in Batesville, Ark. During his working years he was a farmer. He was in the United States Army and served in World War II. He was a member of the Melbourne Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Rogie Jones Wren of the home; two sisters -- Tracelee Shaver of Wenatchee, Wash., and Ernestine Sims of Washington state; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lois Wren; and two nephews -- Jimmy Wren and Delnor "Pete" Wren.

The funeral was July 24 at Roman and Billy Howard Memorial Chapel with Eric Williamson and J.B. Milligan officiating. Burial was at Reeves Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home of Melbourne.

Pallbearers were Travis Lewis, Vernon Claxton, Donnie Gillihan, Wayne Langston, Dewey Love and David Clark.

Honorary pallbearers were Shelby Qualls, Dean Floyd, J.D. Jones and Bobby Jones.
