Bertha Juanita Mason, 89, of Jonesboro, formerly of Hardy, died Nov. 18, 2001, at her residence. She was a member of Bono First United Pentecostal Church of Bono. She had lived in the Hardy area from 1970 to 1998 before moving to Jonesboro.She was a pioneer member of Arkansas Hearing Society, where she served as vice president and treasurer. She received the Thomas A. LeBanc Award in 1994.She is survived by three sons: Thomas Franklin Hodgkiss, David Lee Wallace and James Wyatt Mason Sr., all of Jonesboro; three daughters: Nellie Margaret Crow of Irving, Texas, Donna Raye Wallace and Mary Jo Clark, both of Hardy; 23 grandchildren; and 43 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank E. Mason; a daughter, Jewell Maxine Kerby; and one son, Lester Wallace.Services were Wednesday, Nov. 21 at 1 p.m. in the Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Chapel in Jonesboro, officiated by Danny Murphy. Burial was in Chapel Cemetery.Pallbearers were Charles Crow, Joe Kerby, James Mason Jr., Jeff Mason and Timothy F. Hodgkiss and Dennis J. Mason. Honorary pallbearers are Brendan L. Tate, Shane Willcockson, James Crawford Jr. and Kevin Chadwick.
