CAUGHT IN TIME:
The Hardy Fire Department was paged out Dec. 28 to fight a blaze at one of the oldest houses in downtown Hardy. A citizen notified the Sharp County 9-1-1 office at approximately 8:20 a.m. of a fire at 206 E. Third Street. Firemen worked for several hours extinguishing the flames. The home received extensive damage. The house was built in the late 1920s and is on the National Register of Historic Places as the Earnest Daugherty house. No one was home at the time of the fire. The incident is currently under investigation.
