Hartins celebrate 60 years

Thursday, January 10, 2002

Randel and Treva Hartin of Mitchell recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

The couple was married Jan. 7, 1942, at the Methodist parsonage in Viola by Luther Love. With the exception of a short period in the mid 1940s they have spent their entire married life at Mitchell on the Hartin/Taylor homeplace where Randel was born and raised. He is the son of Ed and Susie Taylor Hartin.

Treva, the daughter of Ransom and Carrie Birdsong Moore, was born in the Byron community. She lived there and in the Mitchell community before marrying Randel.

The Hartins farmed and kept the store at Mitchell, which had been started by Randel's father. In addition, Randel worked as an electrical lineman for North Arkansas Electric Cooperative. Treva was the postmaster at Mitchell as well as a homemaker.

The Hartin's anniversary was celebrated at their home with their family. They thank everyone for their kindness and well wishes and for being good friends and helpful neighbors.
