Sanders leads Pirates over Flippin Bobcats

The Pirates of Calico Rock posted an easy 70-55 win on the visiting Flippin Bobcats Dec. 11.

After making the All-Tournament team during the Lyon College Tournament, Scottie Sanders led the Pirates with 17 points.Buster Branscum added 16 for Calico Rock.

The Mtn. View Yellowjackets were rendered harmless in their contest with the Melbourne Bearkatz, losing 73-44 on Dec.11.After finishing runner-up to Cave City in the Lyon College Tournament finals, Melbourne got back on track by pounding their visitors from Mtn. View by 29 points.Patrick Davidson spurred the Bearkat charge with 26.Jordan Davidson kicked in 13.

The ICC Cougars fought hard, but were dealt a 61-56 defeat at the hands of the River Valley Rangers on Dec.10.Big games from Shane Irgens (24) and Joe Hawkins (10) were not enough for the Cougars.Zach Witt led the Rangers with 40 points.

In a close, back-and-forth contest, the Lady Pirates of Calico Rock edged the visiting Lady Bobcats from Flippin by a count of 47-44 on Dec. 11.Kasey Moser with 18 and Mindy Kovalaske with 17 scored 37 of the Lady Pirates point total of 47 in the victory.Much like their boy counterparts, the Lady Bearkatz of Melbourne hung an easy win on the Mountain View Lady Yellowjackets, 53-38, on Dec. 11.Ashley Brown led Melbourne with 19 points.Kristin Teague followed with 10.

The Lady Yellowjackets got 10 points from Sheryl Henderson.The ICC Lady Cougars could not get over the hump against the Lady Rangers from River Valley, and suffered a 5-point loss, 52-47 on Dec. 10.

The Lady Cougars were paced by Melissa Sherrell's 15 points.The lady Rangers were led by Leslie Matheny's 16 and Laura Hatley with 14.
