Bernice Alberta Janes, 91, of Kimberling City, Mo., formerly of Thayer, Mo., died at the Tablerock Retirement Village in Kimberling City Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2001. She was born in Oregon County, Mo. Dec. 27, 1909, the daughter of David Madison Crews and Easter Ann Crews nee Blankenship. On Feb. 29, 1928 she was married and to this union two children were born.She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Pleasant Hill Freewill Baptist Church in Thayer, Mo. Each of her children and grandchildren were special to her, just as she was to them. The love and wonderful memories they have created together will never be forgotten. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.Survivors include her daughter, Ruthann Reynolds and husband, David of Shell Knob, Mo.; one daughter-in-law, Aline Janes of St. Clair, Mo.; one sister, Vada Hobbs of Thayer, Mo.; two foster daughters, Glenda Frey of Overland, Mo., and Janie McCutchen of Camden-ten, Mo.; four grandchildren; four foster grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one foster great-grandchild; and other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Easter Crews; her son, Lawrence "Larry" Janes, Jr.; two brothers, Leonard Crews and Manuel Crews; five sisters, Elza Crews, Essie Grooms, Mildred Pope, Lois Parrott and an infant girl.Services were Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001 at the Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, Mo. with Rev. Bill Lewis officiating. Burial was near her son, Larry in Midlawn Memorial Gardens in Union, Mo.
