OREGON COUNTY -- Officials with Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative said their system sustained damage as a result of a storm that hit the area June 25. According to electric cooperative officials the primary cause of most of the outages was due to lightning and wind. They said they started receiving the first outage calls around 6 p.m. by the cooperatives dispatcher. Cooperatives employees immediately reported to work and worked through the night to restore power to approximately 1,000 reported power outages in the Alton, Couch and West Plains area.
Howell-Oregon officials said they thank everyone for their patience during the lose of power.
