The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission fisheries division has proposed several modifications in the 2003 fishing regulations. The proposed changes will be submitted to the public for consideration at 11 planned meetings around the state. After public input, the modifications will be presented to the commission for final approval at the August commission meeting. Proposed changes in trout fishing regulations include:1. Implement 12- to 21- inch slot limit on rainbow trout on the entire Norfork tailwater and on the White River between the Highway 62 and Highway 62B bridges at Cotter with artificial bait only. Also, a minimum length of 21 inches for brook, brown and cutthroat trout in these areas.2. Restrict anglers to one rod or pole on all trout waters.3. Prohibit culling on all trout waters.4. Reduce trout daily limit from six to five statewide.5. Allow one barbless treble hook within the Bull Shoals seasonal brown trout catch-and-release area.6. Increase nonresident trout permit fee from $9 to $12.7.
