Methodist church begins new program

The First United Methodist Church Mammoth Spring will hold an after-school program for children attending the Mammoth Spring School grades kindergarten through 12. The program is designed to assist parents and guardians in providing the children wholesome activities from school dismissal to 5 p.m. on Mondays. The children will have a nutritious snack soon after arrival from school. The children will be entertained with a movie, story time and/or other games suited to each child's age group. Tutoring will be available for those children requesting extra help in reading and other studies. The program is free; the only requirement is the child must be registered by a parent or guardian. Transportation from the church to the child's home will not be provided nor will anyone other than the registered parent or guardian be permitted to pick up the child at the church without written approval and a telephone call to the program administrator.The after-school program will begin on Oct. 7. To register call 870-625-7221 by Sept. 30 to ensure each child has a snack and drink.
