Andy Birdsell of Ash Flat and Wanda Hammett of Rayville, La., have announced the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Willow Rebekah Birdsell, to Madison Francis Webb, son of Helen McAlister of Milan, Mo., and the late Percy Vance Webb. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of T.R. and Harriet Keck of Gentry, and the late Milton and Margaret Birdsell. She is a 1995 graduate of Highland High School and is employed as a sales assistant at AAA Insurance in Overland Park, Kan. The prospective groom is the grandson of the late Francis and Lucille Laswell of Milan. He is a 1983 graduate of Milan High School and is employed as an executive protection specialist for Clarence M. Kelley & Associates in Kansas City, Mo. He is a gunnery sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, and is currently a military advisor for the Naval Mobile Construction Unit 15. The couple will exchange vows at 3 p.m. Oct. 5 at the North Recreation Center in Cherokee Village. A reception will immediately follow the ceremony. After a wedding cruise to the Western Caribbean, the couple will reside in Overland Park.
